![]() Of course, there is the social undercurrent of the movie as well. ![]() It’s such a disgusting world but it feels so refreshing to watch. There will be so many things that flesh out this wold to ponder and discover on repeat viewings. It’s like the last fifteen minutes of The Road Warrior on every imaginable upper mankind has ever conceived. The sheer imagination on display is astonishing. ![]() The guy with the guitar and the flames…damn. Those guys swinging back and forth…not a digital effect. This is real stunts! Everyone of these insane vehicles were real and drivable. And yet, that sequence is probably most of the just 10% of CGI used in the movie. I didn’t know until now how badly I wanted to see an action set piece in a post apocalyptic sandstorm beset with multiple lighting filled tornadoes. It’s quite like nothing I’ve seen before. The film has a very unique look to it with a beautiful color palette. However, there is so much that makes it stand out among the sea of action movies we receive every summer. I read someone online say, “My favorite part was the car chase!” That, my friends, is the whole movie! This is a straightforward and simplified plot. Art is subjective, and I’ve learned that building up expectations for someone on art tends to lend a more critical perspective on the subject and sometimes, inadvertently, brings out our inner contrarian. To anyone on the fence about this movie I am not fond of hyping movies/TV/music for others.
